Grey’s Anatomy: Remembering Lexie Grey

It's hard to believe, but it's been exactly a year since Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) breathed her last breath in the devastating Grey's Anatomy Season 8 finale. To commemorate the date, let's take a trip down memory lane with our favorite Lexie moments in Grey’s history.

Flirting with Derek (Patrick Dempsey): The first time we met Lexie, she was just a girl at a bar … flirting with Derek. Hey, at least she had good taste in men.

Defending George (T.R. Knight): When Alex (Justin Chambers) teased George about being a repeat intern, Lexie was the one who stood up to defend our favorite 007. That was the first sign of her tenacity.

The diaper: Much like all the doctors at Seattle Grace-Mercy West, Lexie was competitive. So competitive, in fact, that she inspired Cristina (Sandra Oh) to wear a diaper during a long surgery. After all, bathroom breaks are for wimps.

“Teach me”: We have nothing but respect for a girl who decides she wants Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) … and then goes after him. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Pitching perfection: Throwing a baseball at Mark’s girlfriend and hitting her in the boob? Yea, you don’t mess with Lexie.

“You’re a disease”: Lexie’s final big “I love you” speech to Mark was spastic and heartfelt and all the things we loved about her.
