Did Jason Sudeikis’s SNL Exit Just Get Confirmed? (UPDATE)
UPDATE: Jason confirmed the news himself on the July 24 episode of Late Show With David Letterman. The comedian told Dave he's "definitely done" with SNL after 10 years on the show. Sad!
Original story, from May 2013:
It looks like one more name is being added to this season's Saturday Night Live mass exodus.
Jason Sudeikis had long been rumored to be leaving the show at the end of this season, and now it appears that one of his fellow cast members has confirmed the news, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Jay Pharoah tweeted a message that seemed to accidentally give away Jason's planned departure from the show.
“Hader, Armisen, & Sudeikis — the talent of those three and just them as people in general will be missed, but we will be strong and carry on,” Jay tweeted on May 19.
The tweet was quickly deleted, and the show has declined to comment thus far.
If true, this news wouldn't be a huge surprise. Jason was rumored to be leaving the show following the November elections - since he played Mitt Romney - but he ended up staying put.
Jason has a booming film career, with a sequel to Horrible Bosses in the works and his comedy with Jennifer Aniston, We're the Millers, hitting theaters this summer.
So have we seen the last of Jason break-dancing in a red tracksuit in the background of "What Up With That"? Say it ain't so!
