American Idol Nominated For Choice Reality Competition at Teen Choice Awards
American Idol ratings may have been abysmal during season 12, but there’s at least one group that remains loyally in its corner, and that’s teens/tweens. The show just received a nomination for “Choice TV: Reality Competition Show” for the Teen Choice 2013 Awards.
Surprisingly, American Idol lost last year to The X-Factor, which almost seems like a nonentity these days. There is no buzz surrounding that show at all, save for the fact that Simon Cowell kicked former judge Britney Spears to the curb. We think it could be a tough road for Idol to win against NBC's uber popular show The Voice. What do you think?
American Idol also has alums and judges in other categories, with Phillip Phillips snagging a nomination for Choice Male Artist. (Possibly ousted) judge Nicki Minaj was nominated for Choice Hip-Hop/Rap Artist. And Carrie Underwood got a nomination for Choice Female Country Artist. Way to represent, folks!
