Once Upon a Time Season 3 Spoilers: Are We Done With Storybrooke?
In the epic Once Upon a Time Season 2 finale, we saw most of the series regulars literally sail away from Storybrooke, headed to Neverland to save Henry from evil Peter Pan. In turn, we were left with a lot of questions, especially since they worked so hard to save the Maine town, only to leave it.
Does that mean that we’re done with Storybrooke for good, focused on other magical lands instead? Not necessarily, according to co-creator Adam Horowitz.
“Some people got on a ship, some stayed behind,” he dished to TVLine. “And what happened to those who stayed behind is just as important as what’s happening to those on the ship.”
This could equal a more Belle-centric Storybrooke, since aside from Archie (and his pup, Pongo), Granny, the dwarves, and a few characters who have sporadically popped up (i.e. Dr. Whale), we don’t know much about the town’s residents. Ruby/Red (Meghan Ory) just departed the series for new CBS show Intelligence and the Blue Fairy (Keegan Connor Tracy) is busy with Bates Motel, so those two are out — at least for now.
However, Adam doesn’t rule out Ruby’s return, explaining that since she never died, “she’ll be somewhere” and will “probably be back at some point.” And while it probably won’t be for a romance with Dr. Whale, as was originally planned, his portrayer, David Anders revealed to the site that he will return. He couldn’t reveal the details, but said, “I know I’ll be back.” Exciting!
