Lisa Vanderpump Spills on Stassi and Jax, RHoBH Season 4, and Kyle Richards — Exclusive!
Lisa Vanderpump has found herself at the nexus of two hot reality shows — Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules — and has to contend with the drama and gossip of both. Wetpaint Entertainment talked to Lisa at Bravo Media's 2013 For Your Consideration Emmy Event last night, May 22, in Los Angeles to separate fact from fiction.
Wetpaint Entertainment: Has filming begun for Season 2 of Vanderpump Rules? Lisa Vanderpump: Oh, yes, absolutely. You know what? It really shouldn’t have stopped — that’s the problem. As soon as we shut down, I was thinking, God, things change and move so quickly with the young, hot, and restless. But yes, it is well and truly started.
Are Stassi and Jax still together? Oh, I can’t possibly say. As of today? By the time you print it, it will be something different. You know what? That is an integral part of the dynamics in [the show], so you do need to watch it to find out, but one is suspended at the moment and not working because I just couldn’t tolerate the behavior.
Either Stassi or Jax, you mean? Or just a cast member in general? One that you know very well.
How is filming for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills going? I’m not supposed to say — because Bravo is here — that we are even doing it because they haven’t announced the cast. But clearly because you’ve been following me on Dancing With the Stars, obviously filming has started.
Can you tease about anything big that has happened so far? There’s an injection of new blood. They’re keeping it fresh. Dynamics have changed, you know? And I think, with the show — it’s our fourth season, so yeah, they’re switching things up a bit, which isn’t a bad thing. We are always pretty quick to start out the gate on Beverly Hills, aren’t we really?
What can you tell me about the new cast members? [Lisa's publicist shakes her head.] Well, I’m going to say whether [my publicist] tells me off or not because I’m always, you know… the dynamics have changed a little bit, and that’s not a bad thing.
How has your friendship with Kyle been recently? Well, I’ve seen things in the press, you know, but I find it hard to understand, and it's hard to know if those things are kind of conjectured or conjured up or she actually said it. I think [that the] audience, after 85 episodes, knows that I’m straightforward — so if I’ve got something to say I will say it. So they’ll see how it plays out. But it definitely changed. I mean, dynamics change, friendships evolve and, you know, we’ll see.
Looking back, is there anything that you would have done differently in your friendship with Kyle? No, I would stay the same. I’ve been loyal and always supportive until I felt the need to be otherwise.
