True Blood Season 6: Who Is Billith? Is Sookie Safe From Him? Alan Ball Weighs In!
Bill Compton began True Blood Season 5 as an Authority-captured vampire, but by the finale, he emerged as vampire God.
Or did he?
“Honestly, we didn't know what Lilith was. Just because the fundamentalists called her ‘God,’ that doesn't mean she was,” creator Alan Ball told TV Guide. “On our show, there's room for all kinds of supernatural creatures, [and] we do know that Bill had some kind of major transformation into a deeper supernatural being.”
But this change doesn’t come without consequences — and plenty of them!
“My own belief is that people can come back from anything,” Alan said. “It doesn't mean that it won't come at a huge cost.”
One of the potential casualties could be former lady love, Sookie. While we hope that Bill won’t be chomping down on the faerie anytime soon, Alan wouldn’t confirm whether she will be fighting to rescue Bill or “trying to save herself from him.”
At the same time, Alan promises that we’ll be getting some real answers. This will potentially include her love triangle with Bill and Eric returning, as well as some insight into why she loves vampires so much — aside from their charm and good looks.
“I don’t think that central triangle has gone away … but right now, we don't know how Sookie feels about vampires,” he teased. “The faerie elder said, ‘There's a reason you give your heart out to every fangster you meet.’ That's going to be very interesting to find out why.”
