Quebec High School Students Were Strip-Searched to Find Missing Cell Phone

During a year-end exam, 28 high school students were strip-searched with the intention of recovering a missing cell phone, reports Canada’s Sun News Network. Before the exam, teachers asked the students to forfeit their cell phones at the front of the room to prevent cheating, but when one was unaccounted for, the embarrassing search ensued.

"They put us in a small room," one teenage girl told QMI Agency. "(They said) 'take off your bra, then raise your arms.' They even tapped us on the back."

Once school officials heard about the impromptu search, school board spokeswoman Nadyne Brochu said “they immediately contacted the parents to explain the situation.” She also commented that the measures taken are not standard, nor are they recommended by the school or the board.

There is no word whether the teachers in question will face disciplinary action, but the board did say "an administrative investigation is ongoing."

What would you do if your child encountered this at school?
