What Does Kailyn Lowry’s Back Tattoo Mean? Wetpaint Entertainment’s In-Depth Analysis! (PHOTOS)

In case you haven't noticed, Kailyn Lowry’s back is a permanent mural seemingly dedicated to nature. And if Kailyn’s able to get over the pain of this extensive ink (she did go through childbirth), then more power to her!

Kailyn has said that she hopes to create a “paradise” scene on her back, but what does this body art mean? The “experts” at Wetpaint Entertainment will attempt to decode Kailyn’s ink.

The Quote

At the top of this teen mom’s back is the quote, “To the world you are one person, but to one person, you are the world.”

It would be easy to think that Kailyn got this ink for boyfriend Javi Marroquin, but the couple already has matching infinity tattoos. We think this is meant for her son Isaac!

The Flowers

Down Kailyn’s left side is a vine of pink flowers. As best we can tell, these flowers are hibiscuses, which are open for only a short time every day. This could mean that Kailyn is ready to expose her inner beauty to the world!

Mountains and Waterfall

In the lower part of Kailyn’s back is a scene of mountains and a waterfall. In Asian art, mountains and waterfalls are paired to show off the yin and yang contrast. According to the site Merlog, “The downward movement of water alternates with the upward movement of the mountain, the dynamism of the waterfall with the static properties of the rock.”

Kailyn’s had her share of ups and downs. She contrasts the difficulties of being a Teen Mom with her love for Isaac and husband Javi!

The Bird

Bird tattoos often symbolize freedom and the ability to rise above others. After struggling to gain independence from her mother, a bird tattoo is an obvious choice for the Teen Mom. Kailyn’s bird looks like a combination of a mockingbird, stork, and Pegasus-like creature.

The Feather Hanging From the Tree

Up the right side of Kailyn’s back sits a gnarled tree with a lone feather hanging from one branch. In Native American culture, feathers symbolize trust, honor, strength, wisdom, and power. Indians hang feathers in their homes as an honor and sign of respect. And to earn a feather, one must do a brave deed.

Kailyn’s definitely had to rely on her bravery over the past few years, from being kicked out of her house to breaking up with baby daddy Jo Rivera.
