In a video interview with People Magazine, Gov. Christie explains his position. “Jersey Shore is not about kids from New Jersey, those are kid from New York and they parachute them into Seaside Heights, NJ, and try to make America believe that’s what kids from New Jersey are like, which they’re not.”
Speaking more specifically about RHoNJ, the Gov. continues, “The Real Housewives is the same way. Those shows are entertainment, and I don’t find them very entertaining but they’re entertainment for folks. It’s not what New Jersey is really like.”
So what exactly does the Governor want people to know about New Jersey if not Snooks and Teresa Giudice?
“What I say to people is watch what they’ve seen in the last seven months on the news shows about the way the people from New Jersey have responded to the storm and how they’ve lifted each other up, they’ve worked hard to help rebuild their state. Those are the real people.”
Ouch! The Giudices, Gorgas, Lauritas, Manzos, and Wakiles seem Jersey strong to us. Do you agree with the Governor that the RHoNJ cast doesn’t accurately represent the Garden State? Vote below!
