"Did you slither down here to comment on my love life?"
A snake who likes to stick her (or his) nose into other people’s love lives? Our money is on Mona commenting on Haleb or Spoby, or Melissa commenting on Spoby. When we start to think about it, it turns out there are a lot of snake-like gossips in Rosewood.
“To think we were this close to our first kiss."
We think this exchange could happen between Toby and Ali in a flashback scene. We know that they have some sort of almost-romantic history from the juvie flashback scene and we know that Toby is getting his very own flashback in the Season 4 premiere. We definitely want to know what was up with these two.
"A cat plays with a mouse for hours before she eats it. Once it's dead the fun's over."
Roundabout threat? Involved metaphor? If it’s the former, we think Mona or Ali might use this line. It it’s the latter, we think it might be one of Hanna’s exasperated analogies.
"I know you want to kiss me."
This could be another line from our proposed Toby/Ali flashback scene. After all, Ali once said to Toby, ““Bet you wish you’d kissed me when you had the chance.” Another option is that it takes place between Aria and newcomer martial arts hottie, Jake.
"What would happen to you? Seems like you're indestructible."
There are so many characters on PLL that are seemingly indestructible. Both Toby and Ali (maybe?) returned from the dead this season. The Liars themselves have survived being hit by cars and plummeting to their death in elevator cars. We think this line may be addressed to Mona, who has survived falling off a cliff, an extended stay in creepy Radley, and Spencer’s wrath.
"I love the way that sounds. You calling yourself my boyfriend."
This one has us a bit confused as it sounds like the sort of thing someone would say to a new boyfriend. We can’t think of any couple that fits that description, but Spoby comes the closest. Are they back together after Toby’s seeming betrAyal and excited to have the boyfriend/girlfriend labels again?
"Are you really so sure about everything you're so sure about?"
If there is a line that sums up this entire show, it is this one. Therefore, this could be anyone speaking to pretty much anyone. We think it sounds like something Ali might say - either in flashback form or present-day Rosewood. It could also be Mona, questioning some of the Liars’ assumptions now that she is temporarily Team Liar. Alternatively, it could be one of the Liars questioning Spencer’s fall back into Toby’s arms.
What do you think all of these lines mean? Let us know your theories in the comments below!
