High School Cheerleader Accused of Using Younger Teammate as Prostitute
A tip from the mother of a 16-year-old cheerleader attending Hopkins High School in Minneapolis has led to the arrest of her daughter’s 18-year-old teammate, according to NBC News. The two high schoolers are accused of being involved in a short-lived prostitution partnership in which Montia Marie Parker, the older of the two girls, acted as the pimp and the younger girl would perform sex acts on willing men.
The young girl’s mother would later tell police that she noticed a change in her daughter’s behavior and was notified that she had been absent one day from school. The quick-thinking mom checked her daughter’s cell phone and uncovered text messages detailing the girls’ disturbing business agreement. She immediately notified the police.
Details arose that the 16-year-old, whose name is not disclosed due to her being a minor, had made it known that she was looking to make some extra money. Montia then reportedly contacted the girl over Facebook and through text messages saying that she could earn extra cash having sex. When the girl agreed and sent photos of herself, Montia posted an ad on Backpage.com, a free classifieds website similar to Craigslist. She would later admit to posting the ad to police, saying she received “a lot of calls.”
After school one day, the girls allegedly drove to an apartment complex and the young girl earned $60 for providing oral sex, which Montia quickly confiscated from the girl and deposited into her own bank account.
The next day, Montia called Hopkins High School acting as her partner’s mother and excused her from school. The pair went to another appointment arranged by Montia in which the 16-year-old would have to have sex with the client. When she refused and offered only oral sex, the man turned down the offer.
"You'll be fine — I didn't drive up here for nothing, and eventually you will need to have sex," Montia told the girl, according to the complaint.
Police acted swiftly in removing Montia from the school, even though the final day of classes is this Thursday. She is free on $50,000 bond, and there are no further details related to the 16-year-old.
We are so proud of this mom, who paid close attention to her daughter and acted without restraint. In school, they teach students if you see something, say something, but for a parent, if you see something, act on your instincts. It’s better to be safe than sorry, and for this Minneapolis mother, she managed to save her child from further injury.
