But even though Mona doesn’t know who Red Coat is and might actually be trying to help our PLL faves, we’re not too sure Hanna should jump at the chance to hit the mall with her old BFF quite yet. Here are the reasons why we’re a little unsure if Mona can be trusted.
Mona was pretty quick to make nice with the girls after the fire.
We think it’s possible that A could have asked her to get back in their good graces so she wouldn’t lose Mona as an information source — it’s not like she hasn’t pulled stunts like that before. And Mona having everyone’s favorite coffee ready and waiting when they woke up the next morning? Yeah, she definitely wants them to like her again.
Mona could have been covering her tracks.
Even Emily pointed out how Mona made sure to wear gloves when she touched the cop car — effectively keeping her fingerprints off the evidence. And we’re not so sure her computer’s data being erased was as much of a surprise to her as she let on — it’s totally possible she planned for that to happen so she would look innocent to the Liars and keep information she didn’t want them to see top secret.
Mona’s a pretty good actress.
Remember the days before we knew Mona was on the "A" Team? It completely shocked us when we found out she was involved in "A’s" games, so we know Mona’s a pro at keeping a secret and playing it cool. And while she did answer the girls’ questions and share behind-the-scenes videos of their Halloween train nightmare, we just can’t accept she’s as innocent as she seems. Mona is a master manipulator. She could just be using the Liars to get to Red Coat.
