Sasha Allen Talks Country’s Domination on The Voice Season 4 (VIDEO)
We were very sad to see Team Shakira’s final artist Sasha Allen exit The Voice Season 4 on Tuesday after she didn’t get enough votes to make it through to the finals.
The soul singer spoke with Access Hollywood about her time on the show and had some interesting insight into this season’s country music takeover.
“I wasn’t actually paying attention to the iTunes, because I feel like that’s added pressure on top of everything that’s happening,” she revealed about her pre-eliminations ritual. “Country music is rocking out this country. They are supporting and buying and I guess I was living in a bubble of East Coast and West Coast and didn’t realize how dominating country music is. I love country. They tell great stories. The music is not far from soul music to me, and it’s a good lesson.”
Sasha, in fact, sang a Dixie Chicks song in her blind audition, proving that the crossover potential is endless. And though her time on The Voice may be over, she’s certainly ready to continue on an upward trajectory with her career.
As for her post-Voice plans, she has some serious steps to take.
“Hug my beautiful babies, but after that, you have to have a team,” she said. “You have to gather people and really love them so they can support you on any journey you go on.”
