Regina (Lana Parrilla) had a truly redemptive moment in the Once Upon a Time Season 2 finale, when she was willing to sacrifice her life for the town. However, thanks to a little help from Emma she survived, and now she's off to rescue her son on Season 3. Will she stay on the straight and narrow, or will we see a return of the Evil Queen? Showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis dished on what we can expect from Regina to TV Guide

"Right now, on that ship, she'll do whatever it takes to get her son back. If that means Regina is required, she'll be Regina, but if that means the Evil Queen is required, watch out," Edward Kitsis explained.
Adam Horowitz added that "I don't think Regina thinks of it in terms of good and evil the way the other characters look at her and paint her with those strokes. Regina thinks about it in terms of what she wants, what her pain is, what she needs and how she's going to get it. How everyone else interprets it is on them."
Well, given that Peter Pan is apparently very bad, we wouldn't be surprised if Regina has to go a bit dark to get her son back. If she does, she won't be alone — it sounds like Rumplestiltskin will also tap into his darker nature to help rescue Henry.
