UPDATE (2/4): We're happy to report that there may have been a break in the case of Chica's disappearance. On February 3, Brandi unexpectedly tweeted, "I'm freaking out - I just got an email from a lady who thinks she found Chica and the video looks exactly like her!! @JenniferGimenez chk email." We haven't heard any on the situation since, but we're hopeful that maybe Brandi is having some luck!
Original story: Earlier this year, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville was the victim of a devious dog-napping when her beloved pup, Chica, went missing. The reality TV star suspects her little chihuahua mix was swiped after someone broke into her home — an event we hear about in the December 16 episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Brandi, of course, was devastated.
"I will give anyone who finds my dog Chica in Bel Air, L.A. — Encino area — 10 thousand dollars," Brandi tweeted back on June 13. "Please please. She has a collar — call me!"
At the time, Brandi even hired an answering service to handle all dog-related calls, imploring people not to dial the number if they didn’t have any information about Chica. Weeding out the prank calls, good call, Brandi.
Things got even more serious, as Brandi tweeted on June 12 about the police stopping by to fingerprint her home following the break-in. Brandi also revealed she fired her assistant, who was the last person to see Chica before her disappearance — and we suspect this was the person who informed Brandi of the break-in. Either way, it's probably best to not employ someone who is in charge of your kids if they can't take care of two pups.
Brandi took to Twitter again on June 16 to get the word out about her missing pooch, cracking wise about her other two dogs in the process.
“Chica is still missing & we R prayong [sic] 4 her safe return. Though Sugar & Buddy may be having a puppy wedding soon. #aggressivemakeoutsessions.”
So has Brandi had any success in finding her missing dog since? Unfortunately, many months later, it appears that Chica is still at large. Brandi adopted a new dog named Chody to keep her two sons, Mason and Jake, occupied.
We’re still crossing our fingers for Chica’s safe return!
