American Idol 2014: Kelly Clarkson Officially Confirms She Won’t Be a Judge
We may not be any more in the know about who is going to fill the highly anticipated judges' chairs on American Idol season 13, but we are one step closer to knowing who is NOT going to be there: inaugural winner Kelly Clarkson. Pardon us while we tear up, as we would have loved the outspoken and gregarious singer to join the panel.
We had rather suspected as much, however, as she had said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal she couldn’t see herself ever doing it.
“The one thing I did do was Duets on TV, and that was because I got to be a part of the process," the "Tie It Up" singer revealed. "I’m not really good at telling people how to do something. I’m better at showing them. So, yeah, that really wouldn’t be my forte."
Of course, we were still holding out hope, but yesterday all of that was dashed as she took to Twitter to stick the final pin in the idea.
“I can’t [join the show] because I’m touring this summer w/Maroon 5. I hope they get some great people though. I’d hate to see my beginning end," Kelly Clarkson tweeted.
Jennifer Hudson will likely be the alum to join the panel, although her contract, which had already been hammered out, was never executed due to all of the changes going on behind the scenes at Idol.
It’s anyone’s guess as to who will be joining the ranks of American Idol judges in 2014. Who would you like to see?
