Charles, a 70-year-old British advertising exec who is said to be worth more than $150 million, has been given a "police caution" for the incident.
Now, Taylor — who dealt with domestic abuse herself during her marriage to the late Russell Armstrong — is speaking with ET about it.
"In my situation and a lot of other women that I've spoken to, there's an extreme amount of shame that comes along with it, but also — for me — a belief that I was partially responsible," Taylor says, explaining why women might keep domestic abuse a secret.
"I was convinced that I was the one that would make him so angry," Taylor says about Russell.
Taylor was asked whether Nigella's husband should go to jail for the assault.
"I don't know if there's more to it than this," Taylor explains. "I hope that she'll become a role model and go out and tell her story, and if there was more to it, then I think that he should [go to jail]."
We're wishing Nigella the best and hope she can move forward with her life as Taylor continues to do.
