Lauren Bowles Calls True Blood Season 6 Death “Completely Heartbreaking”
True Blood showrunner Brian Buckner put the fear of God (or perhaps Lilith) into all of us Truebies when he admitted that a key member of the cast is going to die before the season ends. While the speculation has mostly surrounded Alexander Skarsgard’s character, vampire Eric Northman, meeting the true death, some are wondering if it might be a human who meets his/her demise. In fact, Chris Bauer (who plays Sheriff Andy Bellefleur) said at the premiere event, “This is a season that takes its toll on the humans, for sure.”
But many have wondered – would they ever have Sookie die when Charlaine Harris’ novels all surround the character, as well as most of the show? Lauren Bowles (who plays Holly Cleary) says “No,” but she’s not ruling out anyone else’s death. In an interview with EW.com, this is what she had to say of the emotional reveal and heart-wrenching table read:
“It completely surprised me. There’s not much to say other than it’s completely heartbreaking...But I really will say it’s one those that I cried when I read it. Everyone at the table read was crying because in addition to who it is...it could be anyone. I think it’s safe to say it’s not Sookie but, other than that, it really could be anyone and it is so beautifully done.”
Lauren made sure to say it could be her character, Holly, but – no offense – we just don’t see everyone crying over losing her, as it’s not a pivotal role on the show. We think it’s going to be a much, much bigger loss.
Who do you think is going to die on season six of True Blood?
