Real Housewives of New Jersey

Dina Manzo Lands a Huge New Television Role! What Is She Doing Now?

Since departing The Real Housewives of New Jersey in Season 2, we’ve only seen Dina Manzo designing fabulous party spaces on HGTV’s aptly-named Dina’s Party, but that’s all about to change.

The former H’wife is taking on a huge new role, starring on a super-meta soap opera dramedy called Tainted Dreams, Celebuzz reports.

Let us explain. This new series “portrays the behind-the-scenes on daily soap operas,” meaning that the actual show will be like a mix of Real Housewives and One Life to Live. In fact, the show’s director, Sonia Blangiardo — who worked on General Hospital, As the World Turns, All My Children, and the aforementioned OLTL — created this role specifically for Dina!

Her character, Allessandra DiGiacomo, is described as a “a “smart and successful New York City corporate CEO whose younger gay brother [played by My Big Gay Italian Wedding's Anthony Wilkinson] will face unexpected circumstances due to his sexuality.”

Ooh! Sounds almost as drama-filled as her time on RHoNJ — and Dina couldn’t be more excited.

“Coming from a large Italian family, I was immediately drawn to the character of Alessandra’s family dynamic,” she said. “As a long-time fan of One Life to Live, I am excited to be part of a project centered around the rich, proud heritage of NYC-based daytime drama.”

And Dina isn’t the only one excited about her new role — her pal Teresa Giudice is already sending out lots of congratulations to the new actress. As soon as the news broke a few months back, Tre tweeted, “Congrats to my beautiful friend @dinamanzo on her new role! Can't wait to watch!”

We couldn’t agree more! Will you be tune in to her acting debut? Sound off below!
