Grey’s Anatomy Star Jesse Williams Says It’s “Refreshing” to Do Something Else

We love seeing our favorite doctors on Grey’s Anatomy but we love seeing them show off their acting chops everywhere else, too! Recently, Sarah Drew (April Kepner) has been tweeting up a storm about her new film, Mom's Night Out. But she's not the only Grey's cast member with a fun hiatus project! Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery) recently recorded... an audio book!

Jesse lent his voice to the audiobook for The Bane Chronicles: What Really Happened in Peru, a short story written by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan based on the popular paranormal young adult series, The Mortal Instruments. You can listen a snippet of the dialogue here.

And according to Jesse, he’s had a blast taking a break from the intense emotion that comes with playing Jackson Avery on Grey’s.“Because there’s so much drama and tension on Grey’s Anatomy, it’s refreshing to do something a little lighter, funnier, a little more varied,” he told MTV.

What do you think about Jesse lending his voice to an audiobook? We would let him read us a bedtime story anytime!

Catch Grey’s Anatomy on Thursdays nights at 9 p.m. ET this fall on ABC.
