Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Heather Dubrow on Gretchen’s Malibu Country Part: “She Wasn’t Offered a Role”

We were thrilled to hear Heather Dubrow was offered another acting role on the sitcom Malibu Country. But the good news was not completely free of drama.

In Real Housewives of Orange County Season 8, Episode 13, Tamra Barney mentioned Gretchen Rossi claimed to have been offered a role on the same sitcom. But Heather said she asked the casting director, who said Gretchen wasn’t offered any kind of role on the show.

Heather explained in her Bravo blog she wasn’t trying to badmouth Gretchen in front of the other women by revealing what she knew. Gretchen was, however, called about appearing on the show to say a few lines, which is much different from the recurring guest star role Heather was offered.

I only asked the casting director about Gretchen because I was excited for her,” wrote Heather Dubrow. “She wanted to get into this business and I thought maybe we would be working together.”

But Heather did not appreciate how Gretchen tried to manipulate Tamra with her acting news.

I don't however condone using getting ‘offered a role’ as a way of having Tamra disinvite Alexis to dress shopping,” Heather wrote. “Calling to check one's availability for a few lines on sitcom and being offered a guest starring role are two different things. Also, if there was a tangible opportunity for Gretchen to do a network sitcom, which I don't believe she has done before, she wouldn't turn it down. Nor would Tamra want her to. She wasn't offered a role. Period.”

This won’t be the last we hear of Gretchen’s Malibu Country gaffe. In Real Housewives of Orange County Season 8, Episode 14, she and Heather argue about whether Gretchen lied about her role on the show. Stay tuned for more drama to come!
