Oh, brother! More characters are being added to The Walking Dead Season 4, which is now taping in Georgia and premieres in October on AMC.
According to SpoilerTV, Episode 7 will be titled "Dead Weight" and two brothers around age 30 are being cast: “Mack is an aggressive wiseass and Patrick is fair-minded. Mack is recurring and Patrick is a guest role.” Obviously our hearts always belong to The Dixon Brothers, but these guys sound intriguing. Should we be worried that the wiseass is the recurring one and the fair-minded guy is only a guest role? Or are those role designations deceiving?
It will be interesting to see how the bros are added to the mix. Will they be with the new Woodbury folks in the prison; part of The Governor’s group, whatever he’s doing; or with a new group in a different location?
Here are the episode titles revealed so far:
EPISODE 1: According to TVLine, the premiere — written by new showrunner Scott M. Gimple and directed by Greg Nicotero — is currently titled “30 Days Without an Accident.”
EPISODE 4: Episode 4 will be titled “Indifference,” with two survivors named Jack and Erin being introduced to the cast. According to TVLine, both are in their 20s and described as easygoing and “extremely thin.” However, “Jack’s a bit of a joker, while Erin walks through life with rose-colored glasses.”
EPISODE 6: According to SpoilerTV, Episode 6 is called “Rise,” and two new recurring characters will be showing up — “a single mother and former nurse named Laura and a tough and funny woman named Melody.” Also, expect to meet Don, a 50-70-year-old guy described as kind but sometimes grumpy, who has a granddaughter. Don is a guest role, and SpoilerTV says actor Danny Vinson has been cast. Check out his filmography here.
And don’t forget that The Wire alum Larry Gilliard Jr. is joining the cast as a series regular; he’ll play Bob Stookey, a former Army medic deeply haunted by his past. Check out more details on his comic book character’s connection to The Governor. The TV show doesn’t always (or even often) stick close to the comics, but it may give us a hint.
