Paula Abdul Guest Judges on Season 10 of So You Think You Can Dance
It only took 10 years, but Paula Abdul finally ventured over to another Fox show — but just for a guest judge role.
That’s right, the former pop made her debut last night on So You Think You Can Dance, alongside permanent judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy.
Lythgoe, who also serves as an executive producer, tweeted his adoration of Paula, calling her “the girl I’ve waited ten seasons for.” Paula responded, saying, “I am thrilled to be joining #SYTYCD and I am not kidding!!”
Yesterday was also Nigel’s birthday, and the ladies man tweeted this gem: “Thank you all for your birthday Tweets. I don’t know what you got for YOUR birthday but I got @ErinAndrews @PaulaAbdul and @HOTtamaleTRAIN.” Sounds like Nigel was surrounded by women, and knowing him, he loved that.
Erin Andrews, a sports reporter and former Dancing With the Stars contestant, also joined the panel as a guest judge for the episode.
If you need any reasons why Pauls was perfect for this judge spot, check out her videos for “Straight Up” and “Opposites Attract.” Her resume also includes having worked for Janet Jackson as her choreographer and creating her own reality dance show back in 2011 called Live to Dance. The show only lasted for one season on CBS, but Paula’s dance prowess lives on.
