Once Upon a Time Season 3: Who Should Play Tinker Bell? (PHOTOS)
The news that Tinker Bell will be in Season 3 of Once Upon a Timehas our hearts aflutter. There’s a chance that the mischievous fairy is someone we already know and love, but what if she isn’t? Who can fill the traditionally teeny-tiny shoes of this iconic character? Here are the three actresses we’d most like to see fly away with the role.
We’ve written before about how fateful it would be if Emma Roberts played Tinker Bell in OUAT, given that her aunt, Julia Roberts, played Tink in the ‘90s PeterPan-reimagining, Hook. There’s also the fact that Emma recently played opposite Finding Neverland’s Freddie Highmore in The Art of Getting By. It’s like she’s been training her whole life for this role. But we don’t want to cast Emma just for the irony — we think she’s an amazing young actress with the chops to pull off the moody Tink. Plus, with her petite frame and fair features, she definitely looks the part if the show uses the Disney film as a model. Now that her Fox pilot for Delirium wasn’t picked up (sorry, Em), we think now is the perfect time for Emma to delve into the role of the clever pixie.
Sure, Kristen Bell is currently hard at work filming the Veronica Mars movie, but we think she could find the time to play the part of Tinker Bell — after all, they have the same last name! If we had to describe Tink in a few words, we’d say she is powerful, a bit devious, and a loyal friend, and — judging by how she plays Veronica — we know Kristen can pull off all of those qualities. She does humor and drama equally well, both important skills to have for the temperamental Tink. Kristen has always reminded us a bit of a fairy, with her bubbly personality and her pixie-like features. This would just make it official!
OK, so this one is a bit of a long shot given that Emma Watson is a big-time movie star, but this is dream casting, right? Emma has been picky about her roles post-Harry Potter, but she’s also been adventurous (have you seen her recent turn in This Is The End?). Emma is plucky, independent, and intelligent — just like our Tink. Also, the Brit beauty basically single-handedly brought on the recent craze in pixie haircuts when she chopped off her locks. Emma doesn’t care what anyone else thinks — she does what she wants when she wants it, and isn’t afraid to take chances. Can you think of a more fitting Tinker Bell?
