The Bachelor

Emily Maynard Wants ABC to Stop Recycling Contestants on The Bachelor!

Desiree Hartsock's season of The Bachelorette is winding down, and you know what that means! We can start getting psyched about The Bachelor 2014 and Season 18. Because yes, this show has been on for eighteen seasons. You're welcome, world.

Of course, the question on everyone's mind is "who will be the next Bachelor?" Back in the day, ABC would pick random street urchins as their Bachelor homeboys, but in recent years they've used contestants from The Bachelorette. It's pretty likely that one of Desiree's rejects will be picked as ABC's next boy toy, but Bachelorette alumna Emily Maynard thinks the network should take things old school and pick out a noobie.

"Part of me wishes they would go back to going for people who aren't known, that haven't been recycled," she told E! during a recent interview. "That was a lot of fun. I don't think they will ever go back to that, and I don't know the reasoning behind it."

So, who would Em pick from Des' season? "I really like Juan Pablo. He is the cutest thing," she says. "Out of the remaining guys I think any of them would be a good fit for The Bachelor... Chris, he is cute, but they all could be good."

There's nothing more fun than watching someone's heart get stomped on during The Bachelorette, only to see them rise like a sloppy seconds phoenix from the ashes on The Bachelor — but who knows? Maybe ABC should cast an unknown!

Do you agree with Emily, or do you like your Bachelors reduced, reused and recycled? Weigh in below!
