Cory Monteith Cause of Death: How Many Days Until Toxicology Report?

Due to "intense public interest," Cory Monteith's cause of death will be announced sooner than usual — but just how soon?

A Vancouver Police Dept. source says the 31-year-old Glee star's case has been put on the fast track and the results of the autopsy will be revealed early this week. "Due to the intense public interest, the toxicology will be expedited," says the source, adding that the results are expected to come in "in 2 or 3 days."

A rep for the Vancouver PD couldn't confirm exactly what day the autopsy results will be revealed, but did confirm that Cory's body is already at the city morgue. In addition, the authorities have spoken to the late actor's family about what they will do with the body after the autopsy is completed.

Doug LaPard, acting Vancouver Police Chief, confirmed that Cory was found dead in his room on the 21st floor of the Fairmont Pacific Hotel after missing his check-out time on Saturday. According to Doug LaPard, there were no indications of foul play and police are not discussing what was found in the room. The cause of death was not immediately apparent.

A rep for Monteith said, "We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss."

At least it won't be long until the world can finally know exactly what happened to such a young talent whose death took everyone by surprise.
