Dancing With The Stars

Emmys 2013: Dancing With the Stars Nominated For Outstanding Reality-Competition Program

Though everyone on Dancing With the Stars loves the Mirror Ball trophy, they’ll be coveting a different one this September — the gold statue at the 2013 Emmys. The hit reality competition was nominated for the eighth time in the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program category, going up against the usual suspects.

Alongside DWTS in this category is the forever-winner The Amazing Race, Project Runway, fellow dance competition So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, and The Voice. Noticeably absent is American Idol, which was nominated every year since its inception — until 2012. Ouch.

Though The Amazing Race has swept the competition since 2003, only losing to Top Chef once in 2010, there is still hope for Dancing With the Stars to take home a win. They are typically nominated in at least six other categories, including last year’s winner Tom Bergeron scoring one for Host For Reality or Reality-Competition Program, and we’ll update as soon as those come in.

Do you think DWTS will win at the 2013 Emmys, or is it a lost cause at this point? Either way, leave your congratulations for the cast and crew below!
