Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Spoilers: Will the Liars Go to Prom?
The Liars have been seniors for a season and a half now. Senior year=prom. Add that fact to the oodles of prom-inspired pictures that have been surfacing from the Pretty Little Liarsset, and we can’t help but wonder when the iconic event will take place on the show. When will we get to see the Liars strap on corsages and take a twirl on the dance floor?
Not anytime soon, according to TV Line. PLL executive producer Oliver Goldstick told them that the prom timeline question “is a difficult one because proms, we all know, usually happen toward the end of the school year, and we are going very slowly through the senior year for a multitude of reasons. We’ll give you other events, but we won’t necessarily give you a prom right away. You’ll [eventually] get one, but unfortunately that would mean they’d be graduating within weeks [of it], and we’re trying to avoid that story point [for now].”
Basically, the PLL Powers That Be want to avoid the old television college curse and keep their Liars in high school for as long as possible. We can’t argue with that -- as long as PLL moves on before they have to adopt a 24-style format where we witness every second of the Liars lives. As much as we love them, watching Hanna do her morning makeup routine or Spencer study for her trigonometry test is only captivating for so long.
For those dying to see the Liars dancing, don’t fret! PLL does have a country episode coming up, which looks to feature some good old-fashioned hoedown. The Liars won’t be in corsages and ball gowns, but they will be donning some pretty excellent cowboy boots and ten-gallon hats. Until prom draw nearer, we’ll have to make due with two-step.
