Kristen Bell: “I Refused to Worry” About Losing Baby Weight
While many actresses are sweating it out in yoga studios into their ninth month and back to signing up for SoulCycle classes before the umbilical cord is cut, it's clear from Kristen Bell's easy-going demeanor that she's not your average Hollywood star.
Kristen revealed to Redbook that following the birth of her daughter, Lincoln, shedding her pregnancy pounds was the least of her concerns, but coming to terms with her new body wasn't something that happened over night.
"I refused to worry about something I could not change, and I still refuse. Look, I'm like any other woman. All this evolved b.s. that I'm telling you is my mantra: It's not something I practice naturally. I had to surrender to not worrying about the way I looked, how much I weighed, because that's just part of the journey of having a baby. I am not a woman whose self-worth comes from her dress size."
The actress, who returns to the big screen with Veronica Mars in 2014, added that while she's excited to get back to work, it's no longer her main focus.
"I still want a career," said Kristen, who is engaged to actor Dax Shepard.
"Lincoln will always be number one, but I think if you can cut that cord of obsessiveness, then you can work and be a good mother and wife."
