Durex Ad Tells Guys to ‘Protect Themselves’ or They’re in For a Lifetime of Pain

With young kids come endless nut shots. It’s a fact. Well, according to this new commercial by Durex condoms, anyway. The 65-second clip has been named a speculative ad of the year by the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP), and will leave you saying “Ouch!”

While we’re not guys, we can certainly feel these guys’ pain!

The Durex ad is seemingly meant to remind guys what they’re in for if they don’t “protect themselves” from the get-go. In other words: What happens is that you have babies who grow up to be nut-crunching kids. The commercial seems to suggest that kids premeditate their attacks on their fathers’ family jewels, whether laying a rake in the driveway for dad to step on, or jumping knee first into dad’s sweet spot while he’s relaxing on the couch.

The scenes are all shot as though either the party bus just arrived or it just packed up and left, leaving behind the remnants of an epic adolescent rager. The part that really gets us is the slow motion, as you see the painful impacts coming but can do nothing to stop them.

We’re pretty sure our significant others wouldn’t be able to watch this ad without cringing. But come on, how about a commercial that shows all the amazing times guys have with their kids too? Oh right, that wouldn’t make a good condom commercial!

How do you feel about this commercial: totally hysterical or over the top? Tell us in the comments below!
