True Blood Joe Manganiello Takes on Fox Newscaster Shepard Smith on The Soup
True Blood hunk Joe Manganiello may come off growly and serious as Alcide, but in real life he's a big ball of fun, and nowhere was that as clear as on Joel McHale's pop-culture parody show The Soup, which Joe guest starred on last night (August 7, 2013).
The half hour comedy show, which airs on E! and is done in the style of an E! news show, except that it makes fun of pop culture instead of celebrating it, is one of our favorite ways to unwind after a long Wednesday. Imagine our joy when we flipped it on and realized that this week, we'd be getting an extra dose of one of our fave True Blood hotties alongside the laugh-out-loud snark.
Joe showed off his comedic chops by easily keeping up with Joel McHale (of Community fame, if you're not sure why you recognize the name) throughout the show. In one of our favorite sequences, which you can watch below, he and Joel played a fill-in-the-blank game inspired by a clip from Felt, a TV show in which puppets act out the audio from real life couples therapy sessions (yes, it's as weird as it sounds).
