Pretty Little Liars Speculation: Is Maggie Telling the Truth?
Maggie has become a fixture in Ezra’s life since he found out last season that they have a seven-year-old child, Malcolm, together. The official synopsis for next week’s Pretty Little Liarsepisode (Season 4, Episode 10: “The Mirror Has Three Faces”) reveals that "Ezra continues to reel from Maggie's big news when he's dealt an even more crushing blow regarding his son." Has Maggie been lying to Ezra?
Yes, Malcolm isn’t even his son
We’re kinda, sorta worried that the “crushing blow” Ezra is dealt involves the paternity test Veronica Hastings suggest Ezra take to confirm that Malcolm is really his biological son. We’re not sure what would happen if the test comes back negative, but it would mean Ezra would have some very hard decisions to make. It would also mean the major catalyst for the big Ezria breakup was a big, fat lie...
We could totally see Maggie lying about Malcolm’s parentage. Ezra’s mom paid Maggie to not tell Ezra about Malcolm for seven years. She even sprang for a condo for the mother and son to live in. Did Maggie lie about Malcolm being Ezra’s for the financial support?
Yes, and she’s on the “A” Team
Another possibility is that Maggie is on “A”’s payroll. Maggie has shown that she has questionable moral judgment (i.e. not telling Ezra about Malcolm for seven years, and then having Aria lie about it, too). Would she use Malcolm/her return to Ezra’s life as a way to influence the Ezria relationship under “A”’s orders for a little monetary compensation? Perhaps. She’s been in Ezra’s life for a while now and she hasn’t even mentionedher ability to turn into goo and slip underneath doors. Wait a minute...is that genetic? We have some new thoughts on this “crushing blow.”
No, she’s telling the truth
On the other hand, Maggie could totally be telling the truth. Sure, she didn’t tell Ezra about Malcolm, and maybe that was a bad decision, but that doesn’t mean she is lying about anything else. Now that she has a chance to move to Washington and get a great teaching job, we totally understand her desire to go. She’s being upfront about what she wants and, though she’s not giving Ezra much choice in the matter, she’s not trying to hide the potential move, either. Is our PLL paranoia getting out of hand?
