The Hero Who Saved Usher’s Son Talks His Accident: “Thank God I Was There”
In a world filled with attention seekers, it’s nice to know that there are still heroes out there. R&B superstar Usher had quite the scare last week when his 5-year-old son nearly drowned in a tragic pool accident, but luckily two nearby workers were able to pull the boy out and administer CPR.
TMZ caught up with one of the workers, Eugene Stachurski, who had been installing recording equipment at the time on the accident. Eugene and fellow worker Ben Crews were the ones who pulled Usher Raymond V to safety, and the “OMG” singer thanked the men in a public statement.
“I thank God I was there to do something,” Eugene told TMZ.
Eugene told the site that Usher reached out to him personally following the incident to express his sincerest thanks.
But we’re most impressed with the fact that after saving the life of Usher’s son, Eugene went back to work and completed the installation.
