Stefan (Paul Wesley) has not had the best summer. In The Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale, his doppelganger Silas shoved him in a steel safe and dropped him in the quarry. The poor bloodsucker has been continually drowning ever since. Still, he’s got to have a few moments of consciousness in between his many deaths, and we would hope he’s using the time productively. Here are five things he could do to while away the hours.
Make friends with a mermaid
Do mermaids speak English? Probably not, but Stefan has plenty of time to learn Mermish — provided he can hear the flippered lady through the steel. Julie Plec joked on Twitter that a mermaid would rescue Stefan, so we’re just following that train of thought to its logical conclusion. Maybe she could, after many tries, figure out the safe’s combination?
Write Vampire Diaries fanfiction to be published on Amazon
Did you know Amazon is publishing Vampire Diaries fanfiction? Stefan can get in on the craze by crafting intricate storylines involving Alaric (Matt Davis) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) falling in love on the Other Side, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) getting his dog back from Colorado, and himself being rescued by a mermaid. By the time he gets out of the water, he’ll have an entire slew of stories ready to make him some extra cash.
Even though he’s a vampire with super strength, Stefan loves doing pushups. The fitness buff will be missing his daily regimen, so with the restricted space of the safe, we recommend he take up isometric exercise. Not only will he stay in tip-top vampire shape, he’ll relieve some of his stress.
Come up with backstories for the rest of his doppelgangers
You know Silas isn’t the only doppelganger Stefan has. Elena (Nina Dobrev) has both Katherine (Nina Dobrev) and Tatia — if not more. Perhaps there was a soldier in Alexander the Great’s army with Stefan’s face or an Italian Renaissance painter who looked just like him. Bonus: Some of these tales can be used in the fanfiction.
Plot ways to break up Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena
Now, we’re not saying this is something Stefan should do, but he’ll have a lot of time to dwell on the fact that his ex-girlfriend chose his brother...
