Glee Season 5 Premiere: Do Kurt and Blaine Get MARRIED?! — Update
UPDATE: Based on the newest information, we're still thinking that Klaine could very well get engaged in Glee's Season 5 premiere, but we're not so sure about the whole wedding thing. Though we thought the casting notice was for wedding attire, it turns out that it is likely just for the McKinley High School prom, instead. On August 20, glee club band member John Lock tweeted, "Goodmorning!! Time for Prom." Well, we last season did end halfway through the year. We guess it really could be time for prom already!
Is it time to pick out your Klaine wedding present already? We’ve heard rumors that Blaine (Darren Criss) may propose to Kurt (Chris Colfer) as early as Glee’s Season 5 premiere — and now it appears that the two could actually be getting married in the episode as well!
We’ll pause a moment to allow your shrieks of joy to subside. We know — this news warrants a lot of shrieks.
Chris has added fuel to the marriage-rumor fire with his recent comments to ET Online. When asked about what happens to the couple, Chris teases, “I don’t know if I can say, because it would ruin the first episode. But I think the fans are going to be very pleased. That’s all I’ll say."
Wait — so the fans are going to be “pleased”? Following the Season 4 finale cliffhanger wherein Blaine bought a ring for Kurt, the only development we can think of that would please fans would be a proposal — if not more. So is Chris basically confirming that Blaine at least gets down on one knee and pops the question? Hmm...
During the same interview, Chris was asked whether the real-life legality of gay marriage means Klaine really will get married, which prompted even more teasing responses. “Like I said, I’m not gonna say anything, because it would ruin the first episode,” Chris says. He then adds: “As the writers say, it’s really exciting to show our audience that [a Klaine marriage] is a possibility now.”
Want one more reason to expect them to tie the knot soon? A Glee casting notice posted on August 14 is calling for extras to be wearing wedding-esque attire for a role in an upcoming scene. According to the casting call, men “must own a full black tuxedo” and ladies should wear something “along the lines of a prom type dress.” Sounds like a wedding to us!
Okay, so that casting notice could theoretically be for any number of black-tie events. Still, we’re refusing to let anything burst our wedding-fever bubble — and we may put on a prom-type dress right now, just to get in the Klaine wedding spirit. Care to join us?
