Tina Fey Women’s College Comedy Gets Straight-to-Series Order at Fox
Tina Fey fans, rejoice! It didn't take long for our 30 Rock girl to find a new home for her new show, but the good news means that she's leaving NBC and her gal pal Amy Poehler for the bright and shiny world of Fox.
Tina's new comedy — which she worked on with Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock — got a straight-to-series order after a multiple-network bidding war. In other words, Tina is the most popular woman around.
The show is not yet titled, but takes place at a women's college that has just opened its doors to the enemy: men! But the big question is whether or not Tina will hop in front of the camera and pull double duty like she did with 30 Rock. Don't get your hopes up, apparently Tina is planning on keeping her role purely creative.
This is the first show of the season to get the coveted straight-to-series order, but it's obviously because Tina is the queen of TV. While we're sad that Tina is leaving Amy behind, she'll have great company with Mindy Kaling and Andy Samberg over at Fox.
