Prince William Hints That the Royal Baby’s Nursery May Have Safari Theme!
Prince William’s ties to Africa are well known, considering his late mother’s championing of landmine-clearing operations and his father’s efforts to save endangered African animals, which William has also taken up. So it’s no wonder that William would want to pass a passion for Africa to the newroyal baby however he can. According to a preview of CNN’s upcoming interview with the prince, he may have plans to turn the new royal baby’s room into an Africa-inspired getaway!
Africa has played a large role in Prince William’s life since he was very young. According toUSA Today, Prince Charles would take young William with him as he worked to call awareness to poaching and other despicable acts harming African wildlife; William is now a royal patron of Tusk Trust, a group that supports African wildlife; and the young prince even proposed to his wifeKate Middleton while they were on a safari vacation in Africa in 2010.
In this preview of an interview with CNN, William discusses life with his new baby boy and even drops some hints on a potential nursery or big boy room. "I'll have toy elephants and rhinos around the room," William joked. "We'll cover it in lots of bushes and things like that, make him grow up as if he's in the bush."
This would surely be a unique way to pique George’s interest in Africa, and as soon as we heard about it, we immediately imagined the cutest safari nursery ever! Stuffed elephants and giraffes, a zebra rocking horse, a monkey mobile, and some leopard print upholstery.
Too. Freaking. Much!
That may be a bit down the road, though. William and Kate have some other more important ideas to instill in their new baby boy first. William says, "At the moment, the only legacy I want to pass on to him is to sleep more and maybe not have to change his nappy so many times."
