Glee’s Sue Sylvester wisely avoided the possibility of divorce by doing what any normal person would do — she married herself. Makes perfect sense. But even though her real-life counterpart, actress Jane Lynch, is now getting divorced from her real-life wife, things are remaining civil between them.
Indeed, our hearts have been hurting ever since Jane announced in June that she and wife, Dr. Lara Embry, were divorcing after three years of marriage. Recently, Jane spoke to Larry King about what led to the divorce. “It’s two people who just decide it’s better to go apart than stay together,” Jane explains.
However, Jane says she has remained friendly with Lara and Haden, Lara’s ten-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. “All is good,” Jane says. “She has a little girl who is very dear to me.”
Larry tells Jane that divorce is always hard, and Jane agrees. “We have to remain adults, which we have,” she replies. “We keep everybody’s — especially Hayden’s — good in our mind.”
While Jane’s marriage is ending, wedding bells are on the horizon for several other Glee stars. Matthew Morrison (Will) got engaged to girlfriend Renee Puente in June, while co-stars Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Melissa Benoist (Marley) are rumored to be engaged, although they have yet to confirm it.
We wish Jane and Lara all the best moving forward, and we can only hope that things will turn out better for Sue Sylvester and baby daddy Michael Bolton.
