Man Dead in Apparent Suicide at Olivia Newton-John’s Florida Home
A man is dead in an apparent suicide at the Florida home of former Grease star Olivia Newton-John.
The victim was found on the property of the actress’ Jupiter Inlet Colony home with a gunshot wound to the head around 12:15 PM on Monday.
Neither Olivia nor her husband, John Easterling, were at the property when the incident took place, nor did they know the man personally. Sources on the scene claim that the deceased, who was hired as a contractor on the house, was seen crying on the property prior to the shooting.
While no name has been released yet, Jupiter Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Scott Pascarella told Us Weekly of the victim’s identity, “The deceased is a 42-year old white male, hired as a contractor by the residents . . . We'll be releasing his identity subsequent to the outcome of the autopsy."
Although the man’s death appears to be a clear-cut suicide, the Jupiter Police Department will investigate for any signs of foul play before they make their final determination.
The Jupiter Inlet house where the contractor died is currently being offloaded by Olivia and John, who were in contract to sell the house to Rosie O’Donnell for a reported $5.6 million. There is no word yet on whether or not this event will affect the pending sale.
