Pretty Little Liars Summer Finale: Prepare for Lots of Romance

Love will be in the air for the Pretty Little Liars summer finale (Season 4, Episode 12: “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t”). What did PLL showrunner Marlene King have to say about summer finale romance?

For all you romantics out there - #PLLfinale delivers,” tweeted Marlene yesterday, upping our excitement for the climactic episode. We’re always excited about PLL summer finales, but the official synopsis for next week’s episode hints nothing at romance. Which PLL couple might be getting some quality time?

Well, while the synopsis seems devoid of love, the summer finale promo at least hints at some Rosewood romance. In it, we see Hanna and Caleb cuddling up in a car. Could Haleb be the romance Marlene is hinting at?

Perhaps, but we’d like to think there’s enough love to go around. Toby and Spencer’s storyline was left unresolved in this week’s episode (Season 4, Episode 11: “Bring Down the Hoe"), with Toby still mad at Spencer for telling the Liars about his deal with “A” and Spence still fearing for Toby’s life when he went off to follow “A”’s latest breadcrumb. Will these two crazy kids patch things up in the finale?

As for our other two PLL romances — Paily and the triangle that is Ezra/Aria/Jake — we think screentime could go either way with their storylines. Paily seemed to reach a tentative resolution for the half-season, and it seems like the Ezriake love triangle is going to play out in the winter season.

What romance do you think we will see in the summer finale? What romance do you want to see? Sound off in the comments below!
