Though the 50-year-old famously tweeted in 2010 that he was “flattered to be asked” (and mocked his lack of dance skills), he has since sang and danced on Glee, which completely changes the game. Earlier this week, Huffington Post editor Megan Griffo tweeted, “Yogurt spokesperson is the new Dancing With The Stars contestant,” which boils down to two celebs: John Stamos and Jamie Lee Curtis, both of whom bombard us on the daily with love for flavored probiotics.
John has always fancied himself as a music aficionado, including during his time as Uncle Jesse on Full House. Jesse's musical persona seems so like John's real-life style (read: his undying love of Elvis) that we can't help but draw some parallels. How about some completely Full House-based reasons we want to see John Stamos on DWTS?
In a situation not unlike his stint as the Beach Boys' drummer, Uncle Jesse busted out some sweet moves while on a family gathering to the band's stadium concert. That performance above wasn't his first time performing with the Boys, either — the whole Tanner family jumped onstage to sing "Barbara Ann." (Although you can still tell that Jesse wants to dance way more than he already is.)
Now, if only we could get Dave Coulier to be John's guest partner while wearing that Cosby sweater.
Uncle Jesse did get to actually dance in a music video for a weird, genie-themed rap song. We're kind of hoping he can pull off some of those lifts if he joins DWTS.
And who can forget when Uncle Jesse taught Steve Urkel how to strut?
At the end of the day, it isn't about Full House, though — it's about Dancing With the Stars. With pros Karina Smirnoff and Peta Murgatroyd both saying they'd love for him to be their partner, it’d be a Hunger Games-style fight to snatch him up. If that doesn’t boost ratings, we don’t know what will!
