Miley Cyrus Unfazed by VMAs Blowback: More Tweets than the Super Bowl!

Miley Cyrus's risqué 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance is all anyone can talk about today! Despite an *NSYNC reunion and Lady Gaga's kajillion costume changes, it was the twerking that got viewers and fellow stars really worked up. Miley even got the Parents Television Council up in arms, calling the broadcast "inappropriate" and "unacceptable." But while the overwhelming reaction to her performance has been on the not so nice side of things, Miley doesn't seem to care what people are saying — as long as they're saying it about her.

"Smilers! My VMA performance had 306.000 tweets per minute,” Miley tweeted. “That's more than the blackout or Superbowl! #fact."

There was certainly a lot to talk about. Between her costume choices, her grinding on 36-year-old Robin Thicke, her naughty foam finger, and her wandering tongue, Miley’s performance of her "We Can’t Stop" and Robin’s "Blurred Lines" provided plenty of fodder for tweeters at home.

Miley has plenty of reason to want folks talking about her —whether what they have to say is good or bad. Her new album, “Bangerz,” is set for an October 8 release, and there’s no such thing as bad publicity, right?

Much like her VMAs performance should have been, “Bangerz” was slapped with a Parental Advisory label for being too explicit for younger fans.
