Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Approached to Host The Golden Globes For a Second Time!
After the massive success of the Golden Globes earlier this year, funny BFFs Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are rumored to be at the top of the list to come back as hosts next year — though no official talks have started.
Deadline reports that Amy and Tina agreed to emcee the show as a one-time thing — you know, one of those celestial miracles that only happens once in a lifetime — but given the 19.7 million viewers they brought in (17% up from the previous year and one of the most-watched Globes ever), it isn’t a surprise that NBC and Dick Clark Productions are hounding the two to make an epic return.
If you didn’t catch the funny gals hosting earlier this year, you really missed out. Even though they weren’t on the stage very long, it was a treat to see such effortless humor and real chemistry on-stage. Just check out the video below and you’ll understand.
The problem with getting these two back is that both are extremely busy. Sure, Tina is done with 30 Rock, but she’s already sold two comedies to different networks and is expected to pitch more while Amy is still heading her hilarious Parks and Recreation. Both are also managing movie careers as well.
Deadline says hosting the Golden Globes is a very minimal commitment, so let’s all cross our fingers, hug our Li’l Sebastians, and click our heels three times while saying, “I want to go to there.”
