The pressures of Hollywood can often be difficult to withstand, and some celebrities have an easier time dealing than others. Whether it’s an addiction to drugs, alcoholism, or body image issues, there are plenty of reasons why celebrities may seek professional help at some point during their careers.

First up: Britney Spears. ;At just 11 years old, Britney joined ;The Mickey Mouse Club ;and began her swift ascent to pop superstardom. By 2007, Britney had countless hit songs to her name, but was also a recently divorced 25-year-old with two young sons and a penchant for partying.

After two false starts in rehab in February — first at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Centre and a week later at Promises — Britney, who famously shaved her head during her downward spiral, finally stuck with the one-month substance abuse program at Promises. Since leaving rehab, Britney has slowly regained control of her own life, and now shares custody of sons Sean Preston and Jayden James with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. In 2011 — just after celebrating her 30th birthday — Britney announced her ;engagement to talent agent Jason Trawick.
