Positive Pregnancy Tests Are a Hot Commodity on Craigslist — What!?
People sell everything on Craigslist – from used yoga mats (ewww) to wedding dresses, to dogs, cars, and golf clubs, you can pretty much buy anything on the popular site. But what about a positive pregnancy test? It’s the wave of the future, at least according to a trend that’s been spotted in the online marketplace.
What for, you might ask? Those who are selling the tests assure the buyers that they don’t need or want to know the answer, but we sure do! One disturbing ad in the New Jersey area reportedly marketed it as a way to “get your boyfriend to finally pop the question.” Ahhh yes, because what could go wrong with the old “bait and switch” idea?
One Dallas poster was seeking urine that indicated a positive pregnancy, and was eerily straightforward about her rather devious purpose for it:
“I was with my ex for 5 years and 2 children. We had been trying for another he came home last night and said out of all things his receptionist he got pregnant. He had been cheating for the last 6 mths. He isn’t sure which one he wants to be with. He text this morning and said just wanted to make sure you start your period this week let me know. I was so shocked I have kicked him and I think I handled it well for what a cheating lying dog he is. I am so done with him an angry and don’t want him back but would like the last laugh out of this. I will give some girl $40.”
Paging Jerry Springer!
Have you heard about this trend? Would you buy or sell a positive pregnancy test and, if so, why?
