Pretty Little Liars Speculation: What Does “A TEAM” Really Stand For?
Here at Wetpaint Entertainment, we love a good acrostic. You know, those poems you had to write in elementary school using the letters of your name as the jumping off point for each line? Well, we think the Pretty Little LiarsPowers That Be might love them, too. Check out what “A” Team spells when you decode it!
A = Ali
T = Toby
E = Ezra
A = Aria
M = Mona
Coincidence? Perhaps, but it works too perfectly not to mention, given that at least Mona, Ezra, and Toby have all been positively confirmed as members of the “A” Team at one point or another. If we believe that Ali is alive and playing Red Coat, then we can tentatively add her to the ranks as well, given that Red Coat has often been theorized as the leader of the “A” Team. As for Aria, she is the biggest leap of faith when accepting this acrostic theory, but not unimaginable. The PLL fandom has long been gathering evidence that Aria is “A.” The Ezra as “A” reveal has only added fuel to that particular fire, as many theorize that Aria not only knows about EzrA, but is helping him in his missions (whatever those may be).
If these are the members that make up the “A” Team, then it makes us rethink our understanding of what the “A” Team might me. Before, when Mona and the mysterious and possibly nefarious Red Coat were the only known members of the group, the “A” Team definitely seemed antagonistic. But, if Toby, Aria, and Ezra make up a majority of the group, we can’t help but wonder if the “A” Team is a protagonistic presence on Pretty Little Liars. We know that there are many forces at work in Rosewood (i.e. the N.A.T. Club). Could the “A” Team be the good guys after all?
