Hunger Games Casting: American Horror Story’s Lily Rabe Joins Mockingjay

Attention, tributes: Meet Commander Lyme!

American Horror Story star Lily Rabe has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 & 2 as that tough-as-nails commander, a District 2 victor who becomes a leader in the Rebellion.

In case you didn't watch American Horror Story: Asylum — the show's second season — Lily played Sister Mary Eunice, the subservient second-in-command nun at Briarcliff Mental Institution who becomes a sadistic sexpot after a satanic possession. (Good times!)

Now go watch that season — it's crazy-good, with an emphasis on the crazy.

The 31-year-old also had a recurring role in the show's first season, playing the haunted wife of a ‘20s-era mad scientist and abortionist. And come October, she'll be a part of Season 3, aka Coven.

In the book series, Lyme is written as being over six feet tall, muscular, and middle-aged. So if the big-screen adaptation stays faithful to the novels in that regard, Lily might need some combination of CGI, makeup, and a crazy workout regimen!

You'll see Lily as Lyme when Mockingjay – Part 1 hits theaters on November 21, 2014.

Do you think this is casting genius? Sound off below!
