Chris Hemsworth Opens Up About Liam and Miley Cyrus’ Split
Chris Hemsworth may play a hammer-wielding god in Thor and The Avengers, but as older brother to newly single little brother Liam, all the Aussie hunk can do is help his brother pick up the pieces Miley Cyrus' wrecking ball has left behind.
E! reports that in a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres scheduled to air on Tuesday, September 17, Chris opened up about his brother’s now-defunct relationship with the erstwhile Hannah Montana star.
"[Liam] seems to get lots and lots of attention as far as paparazzi, and partially that was because of the relationship that he's been in," Ellen mentioned to Rush star Chris. "You don't have that kind of paparazzi frenzy around you right now, do you?"
"No, no, not quite. I'm lucky… At times you're a target and at times you're not. If you have a film coming out or who you are dating and what have you… but, um, we've been lucky, my wife [actress Elsa Pataky] and I, we kind of live a pretty simple boring kind of life. We're not rolling out of clubs at 4 in the morning. Not to say that Liam is, by the way—well, he has once or twice!"
While Chris quickly steered the conversation away from his brother’s exploits, he hasn’t been shy about discussing the Hunger Games star’s relationship with Miley in the past.
When asked whether or not he thought Liam and Miley would even get engaged, Chris told interviewers in 2012, "They're like 21 or something. I can't see that happening."
