Army Dad Surprises Son At His Junior League Football Game (VIDEO)
Who doesn’t love a good military homecoming video? The one we have for you today courtesy of ABC News is a doozie, so make sure you’re somewhere it’s safe to unleash your ugly cry.
Army Staff Sgt. Brandon Pickett surprised his son, Jayce, at his junior league football game after bring stationed in Afghanistan for nine months. As the video starts, you can see that Pickett is going to surprise his son by throwing him a football, but Jayce sees him first and their first hug – complete with an emotional sob released from Jayce – will melt your heart.
“I wanted to make it a big deal for him. He’s my little buddy,” Pickett said. “I couldn’t wait to see his expression.” This was the first football game Pickett was able to see his son play, and in the play immediately following the tearful reunion, Jayce sacked the quarterback as his dad watched with pride from the sidelines. Sniff.
If you were looking to clear out your eye sockets today, all we can say is, “You’re welcome.”
