Glee Season 5: Darren Criss on Klaine Proposal, Rachel’s Broadway Drama

The two biggest cliffhangers at the end of Glee Season 4 were the possibilities of Blaine (Darren Criss) proposing to Kurt (Chris Colfer) and of Rachel (Lea Michele) landing the lead role in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl. Now, a new preview video from Darren provides some insight into both of those storylines.

In this sneak peek at Season 5, Darren hints at Blaine getting down on one knee in the near future. “Blaine is getting ideas it might have something to do with something that rhymes with ‘shoposal,’” Darren teases. Wait, that’s all he’s going to tell us? And by the way, it’s good that Darren isn’t a freestyle rapper, as he’s not so great at coming up with rhymes.

But in a telling clip from the Season 5 premiere, Sam (Chord Overstreet) gets excited about some apparent news that he’s just received from Blaine. “Gay marriage — good, it’s good, it’s good things, they’re all happening so fast,” Sam blurts out. Does this mean Klaine really is tying the knot? Why must you keep us in the dark, Glee!?

Darren also hints at Rachel’s developments in NYC. “Where we begin in Season 5 is that she actually has a reading with a very seasoned Broadway vet actor,” DC tells us of the character played by Ioan Gruffudd. “We don’t know what’s gonna happen with that — but as a fan of the show, I hope she gets the part! ‘Cause she’d be really good.” Uh, ya think?

We also get to see Rachel in her diner outfit as she talks herself up to a new character played by Twilight’s Peter Facinelli. “Everyone thinks they’re a star,” Peter’s character bluntly tells Rachel. “I guess I’ll just have to prove it to you then,” she retorts. Sounds like the lead-in to a song and dance number to us!

Okay, so we might not have gotten much solid info from Darren in this video. But it just makes us that much more excited for the premiere this Thursday, September 26. Plus, who would ever say no to seeing Darren talk for a few extra minutes? Certainly not us.
